The focus of Ironside Athletics is to improve the overall athletic ability of each individual at all ages. Through the application of sound scientific principles based in strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, and biomechanics, our philosophy is to address proper movement mechanics to elicit improvements in sport, followed by strengthening the athlete.

Not only are youth athletes trained to get stronger, faster, and more powerful, but the sessions are focused on also improving the often over-looked aspects in training. Ensuring they have proper balance, stability, and quality movement patterns are paramount in the training philosophy.

Each session consists of 4 primary of components:

dynamic warm-up

To prepare for the workout by gradually increasing heart rate and circulation.

Strength component

Helps build a solid foundation for increasing work capacity while improving the ability to perform daily activities.

mobility circuit

Designed to improve common restrictions in athletes.

speed, agility, quickness (SAQ) Circuit

To work on linear / lateral speed, change of direction, power, stability, and balance.

Youth sports training classes

Elementary

Our Elementary School sports performance class is a fun-filled hour of age appropriate fitness and conditioning training for kids. This class incorporates core stability, proper movement mechanics, speed, agility, fitness games, and some strength exercises.

This translates well into any sport, making our athletes faster, stronger, and more agile. This class lays a great foundation for young athletes!

Middle school

This hour and a half workout consists of functionally sound movement training, strength training and conditioning.

Athletes go through a proper warm-up, speed, agility, quickness and power segment; then move on to age appropriate strength training.

The workout becomes progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered.

All groups are led by our qualified staff members to allow maximum attention. Here, middle school athletes also learn proper lifting techniques and form.

This is a pivotal age for kids to develop and prepare for the demands of high school athletics, and we see tremendous gains at this age! Our class will give them the head start they need to be successful in their sport.

HIGH SCHOOL / College

This hour and a half workout is a great progression from our middle school program. It also is programmed to meet the demands of high level athletics.

This class consists of functionally sound movement training, strength training and conditioning. Again, we start with a proper warm-up, which helps increase mobility and reduce the likelihood of injury.

Additionally, it gets their bodies primed and ready to go through a strenuous workout.

From there, we move into some speed, agility, quickness, and power movements. We round out the workout with strength training, incorporating all the necessary compound lifts.

The high school age group also gets to train on our one of a kind “Flipper” - a 260 pound device that provides a unique total body workout.

The workout becomes progressively more challenging as we cycle through the phases of athletic performance training.
