Ironside Athletics has assembled a team of highly-qualified, professional coaches to help you reach your fitness goals. Unlike other gyms which only require a two-day class to become certified, our team has the years of experience and education necessary to create and execute the most effective fitness programs in Northern Colorado.

Josh golden

Ironside Athletics is owned and founded by Josh and Jenna Golden. Josh is a 15-year veteran police officer. Jenna is a Realtor at The Group Inc., Real Estate, and has worked as a real estate professional since 2001. Josh and Jenna have four children, who are all competitive student athletes. Their children were the inspiration for opening Ironside Athletics, as they saw a need for quality training for area youth. As today’s athletics become increasingly competitive, additional athletic performance training has become a necessity. Josh and Jenna noticed this with their own children, and opened Ironside with the desire to focus on affordable youth athletic development in our community.

Joey Maestas

Former athlete, turned "mathlete," Joey thoroughly spends his days doing push-ups for a living. Having experience in the PT clinic and weight room, his training philosophy blends both rehab and athletic performance to maximize potential for his clients. His ideal client is anyone willing to: 1. Turn up 2. Don't complain & 3. Never quit.

ALex barstow

A personal trainer since 2014, Alex is currently pursuing his certification to be a Strength and Conditioning Coach. He served in the Marines for five years, discharged as an Infantry Squad Leader. He graduated from CSU in May of 2018 with a degree in Exercise Science. He is also currently working on his EMT certification at Front Range.

shane mikesky

Shane attended Purdue University where he was a four-time varsity letter winner for the Boilermaker football team at wide receiver, after which he tried out for the Indianapolis Colts, and also was a hurdler and sprinter for the Purdue track and field team. Before Purdue, Shane was a two-time indoor and outdoor Indiana state champion in the 55m and 110m hurdles, currently holding the state record for the 55m hurdles. He is currently enrolled at CSU in nutrition sciences and dietetics with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietician.

Chris domenicali

Born and raised in the woods of Vermont, Chris grew up exploring the woods behind his house and enjoys many outdoor activities. He played team sports year round including soccer, ice hockey, basketball, and tennis. During his free time he likes to hike, camp, and rock climb. He has always enjoyed working with youth, and is now also a high school P.E. instructor.

JaneLle Howard

Janelle believes that fitness is a lifestyle and there is a place for everyone! With two children and a husband with a crazy schedule, balancing family and career may be tough but she believes that finding time for yourself and your health is very important to become your best. Her specialties include weight loss, strength & functional training, group classes, and nutrition planning.

WILSON THARP

Wilson loves the opportunity to help others improve, both athletically, and in life. He’s been involved with competitive athletics his whole life, from tournament tennis as a child, to championship football in high school. Footwork, strength, speed, bodybuilding, martial arts; He aims to share his experience from all of these fields, no matter what nor who he is coaching.
